From 2 to 7 January 2023, SwissABILITY Executive Director Roberto Agosta travelled to the northern region of Haiti, Cap Haïtien, with the Directors and Country Representative of our partner Hope Health Action. The aim of the mission was to evaluate the opening of a new orthopedic centre that could meet the enormous needs of the country.

Hope Health Action is not a newcomer to the country: in 2007, it co-founded the Hôpital de la Congregation Baptiste de Haiti (HCBH), a general hospital in northern Haiti that is now one of the leading facilities in the region. HCBH is a 100-bed hospital that employs 270 Haitian staff and supports over 20,000 patients a year.
