Work has begun on a rehabilitation centre that SwissABILITY is building in partnership with donors and the Nkolo Orthopeadics Rehabilitation Center.

When the project is complete in three years time, there will be a rehabilitation centre equipped with machines, its own water source and solar energy supply.

There will also be a building to accommodate short term patients and long-term staff. Additionally, an equipped mobile clinic will be based from the site, serving the needs of people with disabilities and amputations in the surrounding region.

For 2025, the focus will be on the construction of the rehabilitation center that will meet the needs of the disabled community throughout the district.

The Nkolo Orthopeadics Rehabilitation Center is presently operating from a rented space which is insufficient for the needs of the staff and patients.
